1982 : Angelbond Ltd was established in the town of AYR, on the West coast of Scotland, by Alain and Gabriel FURIC. The company is part of the French group FURIC, which comprises ten factories in the seafood and fish sectors as well as their own logistics department. The group FURIC employs over 300 people.
1984 : Angelbond Ltd moved to Bellshill, near Glasgow, where it remains as the sole subsidiary abroad of the group FURIC. From the new location, the company can be easily accessed by road through the M8 and M74. In addition, Angelbond’s distribution is enhanced by being close to the main Scottish logistics companies.
90s : Angelbond Ltd decided to specialise in the prawns sector due to a lack of fish supplies. Until then, the company used to trade with whole fish which accounted for 95% of its production.
2002 : Angelbond Ltd invested in an electronic prawn grader machine increasing the work speed as well as the volume of stock handled.
2004 : A refrigerated extension was built leaving more working space for employees and facilitating the dispatch of products.
2005 : Angelbond Ltd expanded their range of products by introducing live prawns and lobsters. The purchase of the vivier tank has been one of the major investments of the company.
Since the 10th August 2005, they have been registered by the Scottish Ministers as a Buyer of first sale fish bought direct from a fishing vessel in accordance with regulation 7 of the Registration of Fish Sellers and Buyers and Designation of Auction Sites (Scotland) Regulations 2005 (Registration Number: 37). Angelbond Ltd works with numerous suppliers from all over Scotland as well as Northern Ireland, England, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, ensuring a continuous amount of stock throughout the year
2006 : A new extension was built to accommodate our new offices.
The Furic Maree group, of which Angelbond Ltd is a part, becomes Ocealliance, a world of freshness.
2008 : On February 28th, a fire guts the Belshill firm following an electrical incident. Damages are significant : production tool (production lines for fresh and alive prawns, vivier tank, cold storages, etc.), stocks, and offices vanish in the fire. To carry on business and to meet customer demands, Angelbond Ltd, from September 2008, installed into new premises in Glasgow, in the Port Dundas industrial zone. The company has since created a modern tool production, which allows them to offer you the same quality service.
